My BFF

To Jenn I have a friend who I adore I have known her now around thirty years for Caring and sharing, a really big heart Our mothers were hoping one day we would part We had quite a youth and the teen years, a blur Our minds would not always meet, but our hearts would stay pure (?) While growing up in the same hood we shared many walks Laughing, playing and many talks We grew a bond that many could never Understand how we could get through such weather Because for a while we shared the same ambitions and dreams Then something changed or so it seemed Music, politics, religion and men My passions grew sooo different from my friend There is a lot that we don’t see eye to eye But we still share conversations (often) and sometimes a good cry She is more then a friend, she is my family Because she has always loved me for Me Today I honor you in this way I wish you (Jennifer) love, joy and an amazing Birthday!
